She cook’s with lots of love and care.

Mummy ke hath ka bana khana! By default Healthy hi hoga. But do you know about one of the most frequently used item in every household? BREAD.

Food items including Bread can be easily prepared saving your morning cooking time like Break Jam, Sandwich, Toast, Bread Butter etc. No doubt it is the easy way out and it also maintains its food quality and does not get stale.

Mommies. It’s time you know that we have been misled in many ways. Thinking this fills our Child’s stomach for considerate time and is healthy, is absolutely wrong.

Maida is something which can stay in our digestive tract for years. It literally stales and can later on result in acidity, obesity, pimples, bloating and at that point you never really know the actual underlying reason. But years of maida in your body is the actual “culprit”. As Mothers, we have the ability to save our kids from all these diseases in there later stages of life when maybe we won’t be around. So give them a boon of good health.

So we understand that Bread is not at all good. True so what to do now? How to handle the real life scenarios where your kid might feel “My Mom is not letting me eat this delicious burger or sandwich which almost every other kid eats. Why can’t I?” This is meant to happen as our kids are little they don’t really understand the meaning of unhealthy food.

So here are few ways to create a healthy mindset for your kid

    1. Change your eating habits, FIRST : Yes! You heard it right. If you want your younger one’s to change their way of eating you  have to change your habits first. In this case, eradicate Bread from your meals. Do not expect them to understand not to eat it whereas they see you having it during meals. It’s too complicated for them to understand why can you eat and why can’t they.
    2. Replace Bread with Chapatis: Make Frankie’s, Chapati Sandwich or Chapati Roll something which looks tempting as compared to a plain white bread.
    3. Educate child about Healthy and Junk Food: Nowadays even in schools children are taught to differentiate between healthy and junk from a very young age. Have such communication at home as well. It is important for them to listen to such talks everyday at home so the concept of healthy foods is not foreign to them.
    4. Always explain by examples, never force: Whichever domain of life, forcing will never help. Always try to educate and as a parent try your best to help your kid understand. The more they see you doing it the more they feel confident to do it.

Let me know in comments if you have tried this with your kids and how was healthy the change was in comments.
